Olive oil has been used in soap for thousands of years — Castile soap, one of the oldest soap traditions in the world, is made entirely from olive oil. It's incredibly gentle and is rich in oleic acid, which closely mimics the skin's own natural sebum. That means it moisturizes without clogging pores and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. It creates a soft, conditioning lather that leaves skin feeling smooth, not stripped.

Why Cold Process?

All Verde soaps are made using the cold process method. Unlike commercial soap — which is often stripped of its natural glycerin and replaced with synthetic additives — cold process soap retains all the glycerin naturally produced during the soap-making process. Glycerin is a powerful humectant that draws moisture to the skin. It's the reason a handmade bar feels so different from a store-bought one.

Cold process also means we never use heat to rush the saponification process. The oils and lye combine and cure slowly over 4–6 weeks, resulting in a harder, longer-lasting bar with a more stable lather and deeper conditioning properties.
